Position Title: Substance Abuse Counselor
Position Number: 6313 - 10 - 423 District 1
Job Description: The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a full-time energetic and highly motivated Substance Abuse Services professional with a good working knowledge of the disease of addiction and current AOD evidence-based treatment practices. The preferred candidate will have substantial training and experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders with offender populations, and possess state and/or national certifications in addiction treatment CSAC, CAC, CCJP, or LSATP. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field with advanced education in addictions counseling preferred. Applicants must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and vehicle available for use. This position does work on-site at District 1 Probation and Parole Program and will include three evenings per week until approximately 8:00 p.m.

Starting Salary Range: $36,549.76 - $49,343.84

 Position Title: SA / HIV Clinician
Position Number: 6342 - 11 - 452
Job Description: The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a qualified HIV / Substance Abuse Clinician for the HIP unit. The successful candidate will manage a caseload and provide intensive community-based case management, crisis intervention services and supportive counseling. The candidate will also conduct initial assessments and diagnostic impressions upon admission for services. The Clinician will maintain a current knowledge of diagnostic techniques, counseling approaches, and service modalities used for SA client service delivery, and provide HIV prevention counseling, testing and intervention services. The Clinician will facilitate skill-building, motivational enhancement and other clinical groups, and arrange for additional/alternative services where appropriate. The successful candidate will interface with other service providers, provide follow-up data collection with consumers to the supervisor and project evaluator and attend staff meetings, weekly supervision, clinical staffings, and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings The position requires a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field. CSAC certification or eligible. Virginia license or license-eligible preferred. Experience with the criminal justice-involved population preferred. Two years experience in a behavioral health setting required. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH.
